Professor Dr. Mohammad Masud Karim was born in Dhalai Union of Hathazari Upazilla in Chittagong District. After completion of his primary he was admitted in Katir Hat High School where he was first boy and completed his SSC in 1986. Then he admitted Hajji Mohammad Mohsin Government College, Chittagong from where he completed his HSC in 1988 with distinction. Then he admitted in Rangpur Medical College. He stood 6th (6th stand) in first professional examination, 1st (1st stand) in second professional examination and 1st (1st stand) in third/final professional examination under Rajshahi University. He was academically awarded as ‘Gold Medalist’ by same university.
Dr. Mohammad Masud Karim have been pass secondary school certificate from Katir Hat High School,Chittagong,Bangladesh in 1986.

After completion of his Post Graduate training he completed his FCPS(Surgery) in January 2004 from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS),Dhaka, Bangladesh
He completed his Fellowship in Hepatobiliary and liver transplant surgery from National University Hospital (NUH), Singapore
He completed his Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery from Tulane University Hospital, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
He completed his Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery/Laparoscopic Surgery(FMAS) From Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India(AMASI).
He was honored by Royal College Of Surgeons of Glasgow UK with their Prestigious FRCS degree.
